Everything below is designed and cut in-house at our Ossett workshop. Most customers bring the vehicle to us, and for larger jobs and fleets we can arrange fitting on your own premises. We cover all the major commercial makes, including Ford, Mercedes, VW, Vauxhall, Renault, Citroen, Peugeot and Toyota, and we work at any scale from a single van to a full commercial fleet.
Ply lining is the base layer of almost every job that comes through the workshop. Panels are CNC-cut from hardwood ply to the exact dimensions of your vehicle, so the sides, wheel arches, bulkhead and floor sit flush with no gaps for dirt and moisture to collect behind. A full kit protects the metalwork underneath and gives you something solid to fix racking to later.
You do not have to take the full kit. Floor only, sides only, or any combination of the two is fine, and plenty of customers start with a floor and add to it when the van comes back in for racking. We use hardwood ply for the lining and heavy-duty phenolic or rubber flooring where the floor takes the most punishment, with quality fixings throughout. If you would rather fit the kit yourself, or you are running vehicles out of more than one depot, we can palletise it and ship it pre-cut.
Racking is the part that turns a load space into a working van. We build to measure around your trade, your tools and the vehicle itself, which is why a plumber's van and an electrician's van leave here looking nothing alike. The thinking happens before anything is cut: what you carry, how often you reach for it, what has to be locked away, and what has to come out on site.
Alongside our own bespoke builds we are an approved fitting centre for Würth, so their modular units and shelving can be designed into a layout rather than bolted in as an afterthought. Racking is fitted over a lined interior wherever possible, which spreads the load properly and keeps the panels behind it protected. Fleet work is built once, signed off with you, then repeated vehicle for vehicle so every driver opens the same doors onto the same layout.
We are an approved Rhino fitting centre, covering roof bars, aluminium and modular roof racks, rear door ladders, pipe tubes for long lengths and ladder restraint systems. Roof systems are specified by vehicle height and length, so an H1/L1 van and an H2/L3 van get the right kit for the roof they have rather than the same bars stretched to fit.
What goes on the roof matters as much as what goes inside. Ladders and pipe need to load and unload without a fight, restraints need to hold at motorway speed, and the whole lot has to clear the low entrances you use every week. Tell us the routes and the loads and we will spec it accordingly. Roof work can be done alongside the lining and the racking, so the vehicle comes off the road once rather than three times.
Factory locks are the weak point on most commercial vehicles. We supply and fit slam locks that secure the door the moment it shuts, deadlocks for overnight and depot parking, and internal shielding at the points a thief goes for first. We hold VCA approval and Thatcham certification, and we are a participant in the N1 Enhancement Scheme.
Security is fitted in the same visit as the rest of the work, as is everything else we add to a van: tow bars and tow steps, rear steps, roof racks, hard tops and roll top covers for pickups, beacons and work lighting, and Town & Country tailored seat covers. Add what you want to the job when you book the lining in and it goes on the same sheet. Call 01924 265999 or use the form below and we will spec the vehicle with you.
